BIHE provides a wide range of facilities & students support services listed bellow.



Welcome Services [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
Welcome Services is the first point of contact for students interested in studying at BIHE. Welcome Services provide information on the programs on offer and counsel prospective students regarding admission requirements, fees, scholarships, acceptance of offers of admission, payment procedures and arrival services.


University Services [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
University Services The University Services provide a range of ongoing support services to ensure that the experience of new students is a positive and successful one. The following are of some of the services provided:


Student Program [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
Student Program The Student Program involves activities that contribute to a student’s well-being and assimilation into BIHE and University life. In addition to the Welcome Week activities, Orientation and Enrolment Day, the BIHE holds workshops during the first semester on topics such as Multiculturalism, Making New Friends, Conflict Resolution, Health and Wellness and more.


Career Development Services [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
Services include a Career Development Centre offering a comprehensive package of information and training to assist students throughout their enrolment at BIHE. Qualified career advisors provide one-on-one counseling, drop-in sessions seminars, skills workshops, mock-interview practice, career fairs, online job postings, notice board job postings, information handouts, a career resource library, internships and paid work experience.


S.T.A.R. Leadership Program [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
S.T.A.R. (Students Taking Active Roles) is an extra-curricular program that has been designed to develop the leadership abilities of students to enhance their employability as they graduate. S.T.A.R. offers students a range of interactive workshops, one-on-one training, developmental activities and projects, seminars, competitions and internships. Completion of certain activities is compulsory; other activities are elective. Students earn prizes by achieving certain targets throughout the program as well as a Certificate of Accomplishment at completion, but the true reward will be the students’ enhanced employability upon graduation.


Counseling Services [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
BIHE’s Student Counselor provides students a safe environment to discuss in complete confidence issues and concerns relating to personal development, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, coping with stress, grief, and bereavement as well as academic difficulties. The Student Counselor can help students study difficulties, academic concerns, budgeting, health, personal problems and family emergencies.


Student Academic Support Services (S.A.S.S.) [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
A range of student academic support services are offered through the Student Services Department for students who wish to further develop their academic skills or who are experiencing difficulties with their studies. Academic Skills Workshops provide an opportunity for students to learn the academic skills that will be needed throughout their studies as well as providing an opportunity for graduate students returning to study after break to refresh their skills. Some of the topics on offer include:
• Avoiding Plagiarism
• Academic Writing: Essays & Reports
• Exam Preparation
• Critical Thinking
• Academic Research
• Listening & Note-taking Skills
• Memory Strategies
Peer Tutoring offers academic support for students through small group sessions or one-on-one tutoring led by trained peer tutors. This assistance allows students to develop a deeper understanding of course concepts with the support of tutors who clarify difficult course material, review homework assignments and provide motivation as role models.


Health Services & Medical Centre [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
The BIHE Medical Centre is a primary health care facility providing medical and health services for students. These include health promotion and disease prevention, care during acute and chronic phases of illness, and outside referrals when appropriate. The Medical Centre staff members treated the students with respect, consideration and confidentiality. A qualified registered Doctor is on duty during normal office timings; a qualified doctor consults on campus two afternoons a week. The Medical Centre plays an active role in educating the University community and promoting health on campus. Health programs include seminars on smoking, diabetes, personal hygiene, drug abuse, obesity and other topics of interest to students.
Student Clubs & Associations [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
BIHE Student Clubs offer a fun way to meet people with similar interests. Students are able to establish their own clubs or join existing clubs. There is a wide range of social and clubs to suit the needs of most students. Students may join a club at any time of the
Sport and Recreation [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
A range of sporting and recreational facilities are available off-campus for students at BIHE. Specialized coaches allow students to get the most out of the University’s sporting and recreational facilities.
BIHE men and women sports teams participate in both inter and intra-university competitions. BIHE offers a broad-based competitive and instructional program in:
• Body Building Gym
• Badminton
• Chess
• Cricket
• Football
• Table Tennis
• Volleyball

Alumni Services [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
The BIHE Alumni Association is an extension of the BIHE community beyond the University. Upon graduation, students automatically become a member of BIHE Alumni Association and are encouraged to participate in the Alumni activities, helping to build a life long network.


Library [ 574KB-DOC - 18 Dec 2009 ] 
The BIHE Library is a rich academic resource for students, staff and alumni. It maintains a comprehensive range of print and electronic information including electronic journals. All electronic resources are accessible online via the Library website 24 hours a day, and are updated constantly. In addition to books and journals, the library also holds a range of standards and statistical information. Students have access links to various subject-based resources throughout the world. Full details of holdings are listed in the Library’s catalogue. The Library is open six days per week and is operated by professional staff. They are willing to help with any queries students may have.


Transportation [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
Shuttle buses are available for students between BIHE and Khairkhana, Taymany, Parwani 2 & 3, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Mackrorayn and most areas in Kabul. Monthly charges range from AFN 1000 –1500 depending upon the length of the journey. Shuttle services are safe, clean and inexpensive.


CENTRE FOR LANGUAGE AND CULTURE (CLC) [ 18 Dec 2009 ] 
English Language Part-time Program (ELPT) The English Language part-time program is especially designed for students who work during the day and can only study in the evening or early in the morning. The part-time program is particularly suitable for students preparing for undergraduates or postgraduate study. The ELPT program focuses on developing both the language and study skills to equip students for the demands of studying in a western university where English is the medium of instruction. It is also suitable for those who wish to improve their general level of English in all four skill areas, particularly those who use English on a professional basis.
