MCS (Masters in Computer Science)


The Master degree in Computer Science prepares students for a professional career in Software Engineering and Information Technology. The program exposes students to the complete life-cycle of computer application development including abstraction, modeling, algorithm development, programming languages and software development techniques and processes. The program equally focuses on preparing professional network engineers and researchers. MCS from Bakhtar provides students opportunities to increase and polish their IT skills. Bakhtar's international mix of faculty gives students a critical advantage in today's competitive marketplace. The rigorous and practical MCS curriculum is delivered in flexible 2 semesters per year with core and elective subjects scheduled. The focus on practical and projects in this program is the key to developing the skills needed to become a global software engineer and Information Technology Specialist. MCS at Bakhtar is intended for working professionals with at least two years of work experience after graduation. The MCS is designed to equip students with the strategic and practical knowledge and skills to enable students to face the challenges of the ever changing technological world.

Program Objective:
The objective of the MCS Program is to prepare students for professional careers with a balance between computing theory and practical application of software engineering/Networking concepts, methodology and tools in the modern technology development environments. Graduates of this Program will be able to function as proficient software developers/ Network Professionals and effective team members. They will have grounding in communication, mathematics and science, and the cultural, historical, and social issues that influence and effect or relate to software development/Networks. They will have knowledge of and experience with software product engineering and engineering management and an understating of professional issues and practices and have knowledge of network management, design and securities issues in the modern networks. Graduates will be able to understand and assess their own capabilities and performance. The program is designed to ensure breadth across allied disciplines and supporting subjects; and depth in most areas of software engineering / Networking design and security issues.
